November Foodie Pen Pals

Okay, that’s it.

No more baked goods. No more Thanksgving leftovers. No more doorbusters or cyber deals. I need to push away from the table and take a break from all the holiday madness. Just for a minute. Don’t worry, it’ll all resume tomorrow.

But today is Foodie Penpal day! Check out the loot I got this month:

This month I received goodies from Erin @ Creative Soul in Motion. If you don’t know Erin or haven’t stopped by her blog, you are missing out, my friend!

If you are anything like me, you probably read a variety of different blogs everyday…Ones that are super informative and helpful, ones with beautiful photographs, ones with inspiring stories. Erin’s managed to take all of these elements and roll them into one amazing blog. Whenever I get all bogged down or feel like I’m in a rut, I stop by Erin’s blog and instantly feel better. She’s sort of like a breath of fresh air. Which let’s face it, we all need from time to time. Like after you’ve inhaled the remaining mashed potato leftovers and feel like the stick of butter you used to make them is going straight to your butt…

Yeah, times like that.

Speaking of my butt, this stuff isn’t helping matters much:

Lethal. That’s all I can say.

I’m guessing Erin must have read that post about me eating things straight out of the jar so she sent me some pretzel rods to dip into this as-addicting-as-crack peanut butter.

After I stopped hyperventilating over the chocolate peanut butter, I fished out the cute little card Erin sent me. In it she informed me that the theme of my goodie box was “Favorites” and everything in it was a current favorite of hers. It’s safe to say that Dark Chocolate Dreams is now also a favorite of mine.

Erin also sent me this indulgent sweet treat:

Raspberries in Dark Chocolate. Divine.

Sorry, skinny jeans. Maybe I’ll see you in the spring…

My goodie box also contained these little Larabars:

Aren’t they cute? I love Larabars.

I also got some yummy honey vanilla chamomile tea to keep me warm this winter:

And finally, Erin sent me this amazing Annie’s Green Goddess dressing:

I’ve always been a fan of Green Goddess dressing, but I’ve got to hand it to Annie – her version is pretty darn tasty. I’ve been having it pretty much everday with my salad in a jar.

A huge thank you to Erin for spoiling me and sending me such great stuff! If you want to see what I sent to my foodie penpal, Hannah, you can head over to her site Hannahviolin and check it out today or tomorrow. AND if you want to read about all of the other foodie penpal matches, you can find a listing of all of the posts on Lindsay’s blog today.

As you can see, I love Foodie Penpals. How did I live without it?! I’m not quite sure…And I love Lindsay @ The Lean Green Bean. She’s an amazing blogger and she coordinates this super fun foodie pen pal swap every month. Which, as I’ve said before, is just plain awesome. I mean, who doesn’t love getting a package in the mail? And who doesn’t love surprise gifts? FOODIE surprise gifts, to be exact. Which rank right up there with sparkly, expensive gifts in my book.

You really need to get in on this action if you haven’t already. It’s super easy and lots of fun. Here’s what you need to do:

Foodie Penpal Details:

On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month. *US Residents only please at this time- hopefully we can expand soon!*

If you’re interested in participating for December, please send  an email to Lindsay at and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)

Contact her by December 4th as pairings will be emailed on December 5th!

Who knows you just might get lucky and be paired with me. ;)

  2. This is such a cool idea. Looks like you got some pretty good treats too. :)

  3. I NEED some of that peanut butter!! Yep – you gotta kiss the skinny jeans bye bye until January. food is just too good.

  4. Erin says:

Hi Molly! I am so happy that you like everything!!!! And I love your write up – it’s great :) Just looking at all this food makes me hungry lol

  5. What a great idea! I haven’t tried that PB and I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing. I can’t be trusted around peanut butter even if it doesn’t have any chocolate in it- I can’t imagine the bloodbath that would occur if I had one of those jars in my possession. :)

I hear ya with the button-popping issue lately. I need to eat a freakin’ salad.

    • Molly says:

It’s awesome. Don’t buy it though if you have PB problem like I do. Nothing good will come of it. As for salads and such, I’m in emergency mode – I’m going to have to purchase a whole new wardrobe if I don’t tone it down on the baked goods and chocolate.

  6. Cool idea! Looks like you got some good stuff. :)

  7. I haven’t tried that particular celestial tea yet! I’m sorta obsessed with their sleepytime stuff… like an old woman… :p

  8. Julia says:

Awe what a fun idea to spread some foodie love! I may have to join in the fun! I have tried that raspberry chocolate and it is DIVINE. I have problems putting it away haha

Not a big fan of larabars..I am much more of a clif bar or Luna bar type of gal..but their flavors sure are interesting..not to mention super healthy!

    • Molly says:

Any kind of chocolate doesn’t stand a chance in my house. I love Cliff and Luna bars, too. I hear that Luna has a Peppermint Stick flavor out for the holidays – have to try it! :)

  9. Simply Life says:

what a fun idea and great package to receive!

  10. Good loot! I have that tea and I really like it (been drinking it every day!). And that chocolate peanut butter is like crack. I ate it straight outta the jar.

  11. yummm gifts! I love that brand of chocolate, I’ve tried nearly all of their different flavors except the raspberry actually.

  12. alex says:

I really need to try that peanut butter! share?? :)

  13. Kris says:

Ok, I love everything in this goodie bag here!!! I’ve never actually had the chocolate peanut butter, but I think I would eat the whole thing in one sitting. Dangerous!

I love raspberries and chocolate!!!!!! Its my FAV!!

  14. I am going to be on the hunt for that celestial tea now! Yum yum. You received so many good things in your package, that chocolate sounds delightful as well :)

  15. Nichole says:

Ah, that is an awesome idea. What a day brightener. I have that peanut butter in white chocolate. I don’t know what’s stopping me from throwing my whole face in it:)

  16. Sarah says:

That dark choc PB seriously is like crack!! SO good!!

  17. What a great idea. That tea looks good and soothing if your coming down with a cold.

Chocolate PB… YUM! So far I have been good at resisting its temptation at the store. ;)

  18. Kiah says:

What a delightful monthly surprise. I’ve always loved having pen pals, but this takes it to a whole new level! That pb looks, well, like crack. Very apt description Molly :-)

  19. Kimberly says:

dark chocolate dreams is seriously addicting -like eat straight from the jar addicting :)

  20. I love Dark Chocolate Dreams PB too, but I never thought to put Pretzel Rods in it before – I can only imagine how AMAZING that combo must be!

The Annies Goddess dressing is my favorite dressing too – although I think I very slightly prefer the duplicate at Trader Joes, that I suspect is also made by Annie’s.
